Before the Mobile World Congress took place at the beginning of the month, we only knew that the Optimus Black was the thinnest cell phone in the world (unconfirmed by Guinness), it had a 4 inch screen, 2 megapixel front camera and came with Android 2.2. At the conference in barcelona the company released more details about the hardware of this Android and today, during the Digital Experience here in São Paulo, the Optimus Black was there waiting to be photographed. And that's what I did.
Optimus Black has a new screen technology, conveniently called NOVA , which has a higher brightness rating than an LCD screen, for example. Android 2.2 that runs on the device when it goes on sale will be updated to version 2.3 later this year. In addition, the Optimus Black has a 5 megapixel camera with flash, support for DLNA and a 1 GHz processor.
LG does not yet have a set price for the device, but it should be released globally in the first half of the year.
